How can I choose the posts from my Instagram I want to show?

You can choose the posts from your Instagram you want to show in three different ways, using our Plus plan:

1. By filtering posts by hashtags

2. By hiding/unhiding posts

3. Using a combination of both

  1. By filtering posts by hashtags

You can choose to show only posts with specific hashtags, by filtering them by those hashtags. First, add hashtags when you post on Instagram.

Example of hashtags on an Instagram post

Create a new feed on the Instafeed app (Shopify > Apps > Instafeed / Instagram Feed configuration page > Create new feed). Connect the new feed to your Instagram account.

On the new feed, type the hashtag that goes with the Instagram posts you want to show into the “Filter by Hashtags” box. Hit "Save feed" and copy the code for that feed (shown in the grey box above "Preview").

Go to Online store > Themes > Customize and select the page where you want to add your feed. On that page, go to Add section > Apps > Instafeed App. Paste the code for that feed under the “Custom Code” area within the Instafeed section.

This way, you will only show your Instagram posts with the hashtag you picked.

  1. By hiding/unhiding posts

You can decide exactly which posts will appear on your feed by hiding posts. Go to the Shopify > Apps > Instafeed / Instagram Feed configuration page. Under “Preview”, select “Hide posts”.

Pick the posts you want to hide by clicking on them, then go back to Preview by hitting the “Show Settings” button.

Press “Save feed” to apply changes.

  1. Using a combination of both

You can create a feed and make only certain posts appear by filtering them by a specific hashtag. Additionally, you can further curate which posts will appear by manually hiding them. This way, you make sure that you only show the most relevant posts.
