How can I create a feed with uploaded files?

Creating feeds with uploaded files (images and video) is available on our Plus plan only.


With the Upload files feature on Instafeed - Instagram feed, you can manually upload images or videos to your feeds. This allows you to create a more cohesive, brand aligned-feel. Read this guide to learn how to create and manage feeds with uploaded files on Instafeed.

How to manage files




Step 1 - Upload files to Shopify


  • To upload files to show on your feed, go to Shopify > Content > Files.

Important note: For the files to show up on your feed, make sure the file name includes the word "instafeed". For example, name your file "my-file-1-instafeed.jpg” before uploading it.


  • Click Upload files and select the files to upload.


  • Go to Shopify > Apps > Instafeed - Instagram Feed > Files.
  • The uploaded files that contain instafeed on their name will appear under Files.



Step 2 - Create a feed with uploaded files



  • Go to Shopify > Apps > Instafeed - Instagram Feed
  • Under Posts to show, select Uploaded files to create a feed with uploaded files only.
    • To create a feed with uploaded files and Instagram content like your own posts, stories, or tagged posts, simply select the desired options from the dropdown menu.


  • Click Save feed.


How to manage files


  • Go to Shopify > Apps > Instafeed - Instagram Feed > Files.


On Instafeed Files, you can:


  • Delete files from the Instafeed - Instagram Feed app. To delete a file, click Delete.


⚠️ Deleting files from the Instafeed - Instagram Feed app will also delete files from Shopify Files.


  • Change the date for each file.

    • To change a file's date, click on the file.
    • Select the new date from the calendar.
    • Click Save.


Posts appear on your feed in chronological order. Changing a file's date will change the order in which it appears on your feed.


  • Write a caption for each file.

    • To write a caption on a file, click on the file.
    • Write the desired description on the Caption text box.
    • Click Save.
