How can I create a feed with uploaded files?

Creating feeds with uploaded files (images and video) is available on our Plus plan only.

To create a feed with uploaded files, follow two simple steps:

  1. Upload the files to your Shopify store
  2. Create a feed with uploaded files on the Instafeed / Instagram feed app

In this guide, you can also learn how to manage files' properties (dates and captions) on the Instafeed / Instagram feed app.

  1. Upload the files to your Shopify store

To upload files to show on your feed, go to Shopify > Content > Files

Important note: For the files to show up on your feed, make sure the file name includes the word "instafeed". For example, name your file "my-file-1-instafeed.jpg” before uploading it.

Hit the "Upload files" button and select the files to upload.

The uploaded files that contain "instafeed" on their name will appear on the Instafeed / Instagram Feed app. To access your uploaded files on the app, go to Shopify > Apps > Instafeed / Instagram Feed > Files.

  1. Create a feed with uploaded files on the Instafeed / Instagram feed app

Create a new feed on the Instafeed / Instagram Feed app (Shopify > Apps > Instafeed / Instagram Feed > Create new feed). Connect the new feed to your Instagram account.

On "Posts to show", select one of the following options:

  • "Instagram own posts and uploaded files" - if you want to create a feed with your own posts and uploaded files.
  • "Uploaded files" - if you want to create a feed with uploaded files only.
  • "Instagram tagged posts and uploaded files" - if you want to create a feed with tagged posts and uploaded files (you need to connect your account with Meta for Business to select this option).

Hit "Save feed".

Next, add the feed to your theme on the page you want.

  • To show your main feed on your homepage, check our installation guide

Warning: Deleting files from the Instafeed / Instagram Feed app will also delete files from Shopify Files.

  • Change the date for each file. To change a file's date, click on the file. Then, select the new date from the calendar. Press "Save".

Changing a file's date will change the order in which it appears on your feed.
